Well preceptors are basically smarter than you. They see everything. They take it all in and absorb it and then explain it to you so you can explain it to the PT and start to get it. How they do it exactly is a mystery but they are very very good. Like today when J explained that the difficulty sleeping at the end of pregnancy may be natures way of getting mom to acclimate to lack of sleep because once the baby's born she is going to be up all night too. Or that a good way to convince someone to cut back on their food intake might be too explain the more they eat the more likely the baby will be big the more likely they'll have to have a C section. I felt a vertex baby's head today that was the size of a grapefruit. Normally they are raquetball size.
The teen mothers are really amazing too: brave and kind of balls out I can handle this and very patient, and open about their lives. I like this population a lot. They may be my favorite.
